Next Teenagers and Adult hypocrisy? I just read a post that was, to me, somewhat disturbing and eye opening.
Why is it that, as people get So my question is, what is the cause of this attitude towards teenagers? Why is it that, as people get older they look down on those that are younger, even though they are not doing things any differently than the generation before?

Every generation has its wild side and its problems. Why is the finger of blame pointed at teenagers when really many adults need to go take a look in the mirror and ask "what example have I set?
They are just people trying to learn how to make it among the adults in the world, who are probably not so sure themselves. I will not blame my children if in 20 years our planets eco system is out of whack because I drive a SUV, that would be like my grandfather blaming me for WWII. My point here is that, it seems like the finger of My point here is that, it seems like the finger of blame is now unjustly being pointed at the teenagers today when it should be pointed at the parents.
I understand your point and that was not what I meant in my question. I agree that parents need to set restrictions and give children boundaries. I am now an adult still young but a responsible adult nonetheless and I am talking about the attitude I am seeing in the media and from adults around me.
I am talking about what I see happening to my cousins that are going through middle school and high school. They all feel like society blames them for anything and everything which the media tends to do. This is not only apparent in the media, but just read some post right here on Yahoo!
The attitude is clear. The quote is more descriptive of my point in that, children are impressionable and if you think your teenager is bad then you need to look in the mirror and ask yourself if maybe you set a bad example.

Me and my wife often laugh about the things they talk about after the fact, because it's completely nonsense/hypocrisy at it's finest. Sometimes though, it infuriates us just how ignorant people can be. Childhood seems to be shortening and Reviews: So this teenage hypocrisy is a phase we all are going through or will be growing through.
To a large extent teenage hypocrisy is a function of those expectations of adults and peers which conflict with our own feelings and desires. So is important to remember who we are and where do we want to be. The new generation has to take the masks off the faces of the crazy hypocrites that keep trying to hide what is absurd and dangerous, pretending that they are our heroes and everything is fine the way it is now.
